The Wedding of Sophie and Joe – The Crown and Thistle Abingdon

Sophie and Joe’s wedding at The Crown and Thistle in Abingdon was a picture-perfect summer celebration. With golden sunlight and warm weather gracing the day, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful from start to finish.

The ceremony took place in the heart of this charming historic venue, surrounded by family and friends. The main barn was the perfect setting with flowers and fairy lights adding to the picture perfect setting. It was a joy to watch Sophie and Joe say their vows and exchange rings to become husband and wife! Their son, Oliver, also played the proud role of page boy, looking adorable and taking it all in his stride.

After the ceremony, and a fun confetti tunnel, guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine along with canapes before heading back into the barn for a delicious wedding meal and heartfelt speeches.

Sophie and Joe slipped away with us for a stunning golden hour photoshoot among the nearby Abbey ruins. The light was perfect—soft and warm—capturing the love between them in a truly timeless setting.

As evening fell, the energy shifted to the dancefloor, where confetti canons lit up the room and kicked off a night of celebration. From start to finish, Sophie and Joe’s day was full of beautiful moments, relaxed vibes, and the kind of joy that lingers long after the last dance.

Sophie and Joe, thanks for being quite possibly my most chilled bride and groom to date. It was so much fun spending time with you both and photographing your big day. I hope you enjoy reliving it all through these pictures.

Big thanks also to Leela for 2nd shooting and assisting on the day. Great job as always.
