On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Gemma and James’s beautiful wedding at the always stunning Tythe Barn in Bicester.
I arrived at the Nook (The Tythe Barns bridal preparations suite) to find Gemma and her bridesmaids enjoying champagne and being Pampered with hair and make up. All in good spirits and very excited for the days events. Gemma looked stunning in her dress and long veil and had beautiful flowers arranged by the wonderful Jemma at The Flower Shed Oxford.
The ceremony was to take place at St Mary’s Church which is literally opposite the back of the Tythe Barn so it was only a short walk for the bridal party. We did a few shots of James and his Groomsmen outside the barn before they headed over to the church to greet all their friends and family ready for the ceremony.
Gemma took James’s breath away as she walked down the aisle with her very proud father Robin to start the ceremony. There were some lovely readings and hymns throughout and it was a pleasure to be there to see such a lovely couple say their vows and exchange rings to become husband and wife!!
The sun was shining and everyone mingled in the church grounds congratulating the happy couple before forming a confetti tunnel through to The Tythe barn for the drinks reception.
There were drinks and canapés in the gardens and a lovely relaxed atmosphere as everyone enjoyed the grounds and the sunshine! We had some time with the bridal party and Gemma and James to take some lovely portraits around the barn before heading in for the wedding breakfast.
Next up a few of their friends and family were secretly taken to the cow shed where they were to be given chefs hats and aprons as they were to be the carvers for roast pork. They all came out dancing to the guests surprise and threw their hats in the air! A great start to the wedding breakfast.
After the amazing food it was time for the speeches and Robin, James and Nick did an awesome job entertaining the guests with funny stories and lovely words from James about his new wife. It was a joy to capture it all.
After the meal we had some lovely late afternoon sunshine so we took Gemma and James to the drive for some shots as the sun was going down. They have such a great connection together and it was a joy to capture the pictures you’re see below.
It was soon time to get the party started as the new Mr and Mrs Topping took to the dance floor for their first dance. Such great fun and the band soon got all the guests busting out dance moves to party into the night.
Gemma and James, thanks for asking me to photograph your wedding. Rich and I had a blast with you all on the day and I couldn’t wait to put your sneak peek together. Have a great honeymoon on the West Coast of America and I look forward to sharing the full collection with you both in 4 weeks time.
Big thanks also to Rich for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day. Great job!
