My busy Summer continued last weekend with the beautiful wedding of Kate and Dave, with the ceremony being held at The Great Barn in Ruislip followed by the reception at Kate’s stunning family home, Lantern House.
It was all go as I arrived at Lantern House to meet up with Kate and her bridesmaids for bridal prep. The champagne was following and everyone was enjoying the morning. I think it added to the excitement that you could see the beautiful marquee, decorated to perfection through the conservatory windows as everyone got ready. It was a relaxed morning with plenty of emotion, especially when Kate received her gift from Dave. A beautiful set of earrings with plenty of sentimental value and they matched Kate’s dress perfectly!
Kate looked stunning in her Maggie Sottero dress and it was all smiles as she came down the stairs and through the front door to see her proud father Chris for the first time. Kate and Chris drove to the Great Barn in style in a red vintage Triumph kindly driven and owned by their next door neighbours.
Dave and his best man, Ross were patiently waiting at the barn and greeting their many guests. The venue was pretty full with over 150 of their closest friends and family attending.
The ceremony was lovely, with readings from close friends and plenty of smiles from Kate and Dave as their read their vows and exchanged rings to become husband and wife!
The wind had picked up outside but everyone ventured into the gardens to make a confetti tunnel for the happy couple and mingle with a glass of Pimms in hand. We took some time with Kate and Dave to take some portraits around the grounds, chasing Kate’s veil as we went 🙂
Everyone stepped outside to cheer Kate and Dave off as they made the short trip back over to Lantern House where drinks and canapes were being served. Kate’s family and I’m sure many other helpers had done an incredible job transforming their house and garden into the perfect setting for a wedding reception.
We had a lovely couple of hours taking documentary shots of everyone enjoying themselves along with some family and bridal party groups before everyone headed in for the wedding breakfast.
Between each course was a speech with Will, Kate, Dave and Ross all doing a great job of entertaining the guests with funny stories, sentimental moments and lovely words about Dave and Kate. It was a joy to capture it all for them both.
With the evening guests now starting to arrive and the sun setting we took some fun shots of all the bridesmaids in the gardens before heading in for the first dance! It didn’t take long for the dance floor to fill as the live band did an awesome job of playing hit after hit to keep everyone partying late into the night.
Kate and Dave, you planned such a perfect wedding, it was simply a pleasure to capture it all for you both. I couldn’t wait to share some photos with you all, theres so many it was hard to pick but I hope you enjoy reliving the day through this selection. Have a great honeymoon and I look forward to catching up with you both soon.
Big thanks also to Kay for assisting and 2nd shooting, great job as always.
