I’d been looking forward to Sophie and Luke’s wedding ever since I first met them last year and they described their plans for the day. They really wanted the day to incorporate all the things they love, patriotism, gin, Mary Poppins, food and of course their friends and family who have witnessed first hand their love for each other over their 10 years together.
I met up with Sophie who was getting ready at Long Crendon Manor with her lovely parents and bridesmaids. Long Crendon Manor has so much character and I was spoilt for choice for rooms to shoot in and details to photograph. Sophie had planned everything perfectly! It was a lovely relaxed morning and Sophie looked stunning in her dress complete with an amazing veil which we would have some fun using later in the day.
Luke was busy greeting guests over at Notley Tythe Barn along with his groomsmen and Best Man Chris. The sun was shining and everyone was enjoying the grounds prior to Sophie’s arrival. What an arrival it was, in a double decker London Bus! It was so cool photographing the bus coming down the long drive and then taking a few shots of Sophie and her bridesmaids.
The ceremony room was now full and Luke was joking around with Chris waiting to see his bride for the first time. Safe to say it all got a bit emotional as Sophie walked down the aisle with her proud father Paul. Sophie and Luke didn’t stop smiling throughout the ceremony and it was a joy to capture the joining together of such a lovely couple.
Everyone enjoyed drinks and canapes out in the sunshine whilst the kids flew kites and everyone congratulated the happy couple. The bus stayed so we could get some great couple and bridal party shots as well as some family groups before heading in for the speeches!
Paul, Luke and Best man Chris did a fantastic job of delivering their speeches and entertaining the guests with funny stories. Even a few props made it into the speeches including a life size Barry Manilow cut out which also made its way around the room and DJ booth for the rest of the day.
With the sun setting across the drive we took the opportunity to take some beautiful shots of Sophie, Luke and the bridal party before heading in for the first dance which was another highlight of the day.
To finish off the day everyone made their way outside with sparklers to create a sparkler tunnel for the new Mr and Mrs Eeles to walk through. There were a few left for us to have some fun with after creating some light paintings as you will see below. The perfect ending to the perfect wedding day.
Sophie and Luke, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you guys over the last few months and I’m chuffed you asked me to photograph your wedding day. Rich and I had a blast with you guys. I couldn’t wait to put your sneak peek together so here it is. I look forward to sharing the full collection with you in 4 weeks time.
Big Thanks also to Rich for assisting and 2nd shooting, great job as always.
