Some weddings just have that magical combination of beautiful weather, wonderful people and a completely relaxed atmosphere. Jay and Tim’s wedding was exactly that.
Their day began at Mill Farm which has a beautiful house on the grounds where the bridal party got ready and enjoyed a few glasses of Champagne. One of the most touching moments of the morning came when Jay saw her Dad, Chris, for the first time. The emotion on both their faces was incredibly special to witness and made for some truly memorable photographs.
As if that wasn’t enough, Chris had one more surprise up his sleeve. Waiting outside was a beautiful VW camper van which would transport them to the church in style. It was a fantastic surprise and one that perfectly suited the laid-back feel of the day.
Jay looked stunning in her lace wedding dress, complemented perfectly by a beautiful flower crown. Tim looked equally dapper in his tweed suit and flat cap, bringing a touch of rustic country style that fitted the day perfectly.
The ceremony itself was wonderful. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple exchanged vows in the beautiful historic church, St Mary the Virgin in Northill, accompanied by traditional hymns that added to the atmosphere. After the ceremony, guests gathered outside for a joyful confetti throw before everyone headed off to celebrate.
Before making our way to the reception, we made a quick stop to visit Jay’s horse. It was such a lovely personal touch and provided some beautiful photographs that I’m sure will be treasured for years to come.
The reception at Mill Farm had a completely different feel — relaxed, informal and almost festival-like. Guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine while live music played and the celebrations unfolded at a gentle pace. A delicious hog roast kept everyone well fed during the afternoon, while wood-fired pizzas later in the evening ensured nobody went hungry as the party continued.
The speeches struck the perfect balance between heartfelt and hilarious. There were plenty of emotional moments alongside lots of laughter, with family and friends sharing stories that had everyone smiling.
As the afternoon rolled into evening, the weather continued to deliver. Guests enjoyed drinks outside in the sunshine while evening visitors arrived to join the celebrations. We were then treated to a beautiful golden hour, allowing us to slip away for some stunning portraits of Jay and Tim in the surrounding fields. The soft evening light created the perfect backdrop and gave us some of my favourite images from the day.
Back at the venue, the first dance kicked off the evening celebrations before guests quickly joined the couple on the dance floor. The country band kept the energy high and the dance floor packed as everyone celebrated long into the night.
Jay and Tim created a wedding day that reflected them perfectly — relaxed, fun, full of personality and centred around the people they love most. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph and a day I’ll remember for a long time.
Congratulations, Jay and Tim, and thank you for letting me be part of such a wonderful celebration.
