The Wedding of Catherine and Eddie – The Holiday Inn Milton Keynes – Sneak Peek Storyboard!

I had an absolute blast last Saturday photographing Catherine and Eddie’s wedding day. From the moment I met them on zoom I hoped they would pick me as their wedding photographer, their sense of humour shone through and I could just tell their wedding would be filled with happiness, and boy was it.

I met up with Catherine, her parents and her bridesmaid Tina at Catherine and Eddie’s home where they were all getting ready and enjoying a few glasses of Bollinger whilst getting pampered with hair and make-up. Catherine admits that she loves being organised and had planned the whole day down to the minute. So it was safe to say everything ran on time and she was in her dress just as the Rolls Royce came to pick them up to make the short trip to the church.

The sun was shining as the last few guests made their way into the church, awaiting Catherine’s arrival. Eddie is originally from Kenya and Catherine surprised him by walking down the aisle to one of their favourite Kenyan songs. Either hayfever was kicking in or Eddie had a tear in his eye as he caught his first glimpse of Catherine walking down the aisle with her proud father Cliff.

Catherine and Eddie didn’t stop smiling as their read their vows and exchanged rings to become husband and wife and it was simply a joy to capture it all for them both.

There wasn’t a cloud in the sky as everyone headed outside to the church grounds to congratulate the happy couple and take a few family photos before heading over to the Holiday Inn for the drinks reception. We took a little detour, to Tongwell Lake, to get some beautiful portraits of Catherine and Eddie out on the pier before heading over to the Holiday Inn for another Kenyan tradition.

It is bad luck if the bride’s feet touch the bare floor as she leaves the bridal car so guests laid blankets for Catherine to walk on whilst everyone clapped and sang them into the drinks reception. Another fun moment to capture.

The wedding breakfast room looked beautiful, there were two blossom trees flagging the top table, flower arrangements as well as a bottle of single malt whiskey for the guests to enjoy.

After a three-course meal it was time for the speeches and Cliff, Eddie and the Best Man all did a great job entertaining the guests with funny stories and many beautiful words from Eddie about his lovely new wife.

The final formality of the day was the first dance. Another highlight, as Catherine and Eddie had choreographed a few moves, no two-step shuffle here ladies and gentlemen. All their guests soon joined them to party the night away to many Kenyan and English classics. The perfect ending to the perfect wedding day.

Catherine and Eddie, what can I say, we loved every minute of your wedding day. You are the loveliest couple and we really felt like guests with cameras thanks to your amazing hospitality. I couldn’t wait to share some photos with you both so I hope you enjoy reliving the day through these with many more to come.

Big thanks also to Kay for photographing the Ayie last week and 2nd shooting on the wedding day.
