I made my first visit to Stoke Place on Saturday to photograph the epic wedding of Katrina and Damien. It’s an amazing venue with so many areas to shoot inside and out I literally could of spent all day with Katrina and Damien and still had ideas on places to use. I really hope I get to go back again someday.
The sun was shining as I arrived to start bridal prep. Katrina had stayed over night and was in a beautiful bridal suite getting ready with her bridesmaids and family members. She was very relaxed and had everything so well planned out that the time just seemed to tick by with everything falling into place. Damien had earned major brownie points with his choice of wedding gifts, one of which was an amazing pair of Jimmy Choos!! Katrina looked stunning in her dress which had a very impressive train and made for some beautiful photos before I headed over to the ceremony room.
The ceremony room was lit purely by candles and fairy lights cascading from the ceiling and provided such an elegant backdrop for such a perfect couple. There were a few teary eyes as Katrina walked down the aisle and Katrina and Damien couldn’t stop smiling at each other throughout the ceremony. There were lovely readings and of course the exchanging of vows and rings before they headed back down the aisle as husband and wife.
Drinks, canapes, a saxophone player, lawn games and a bouncy castle awaited the guests as they made their way into the gardens. Katrina and Damien had left plenty of time for us to get some great documentary photos as well as group and couple shots while everyone enjoyed the sunshine and congratulated the happy couple.
We had so much fun with Katrina and Damien during their couple portraits. They are so laid back and simply a pleasure to be around and you see why they are so adored by their family and friends.
After a wonderful 3 course dinner it was time for the speeches which went down an absolute treat. There were many funny stories shared, a few emotional moments, loads of laughter and plenty of thank you’s to the people who helped them put together such a great wedding. There were photo opportunities everywhere we looked and it was simply a pleasure to capture it all.
With the sun starting to set we headed out for a few more bride and groom shots whilst the guests enjoyed ice cream and pop corn in the gardens. Then it was time for the throwing of the bouquet which you will see below had me in stitches. Finally it was time for the new Mr and Mrs Lemonius to have their first dance and end the formalities for the evening before the party got started!
Katrina and Damien, thank you so much for asking me to photograph your wedding. We had such a great time with you both and all your friends and family. I hope you have an amazing time on honeymoon in vegas, LA and Hawaii and I look forward to sharing the full collection with you both very soon but for now heres your sneak peek storyboard!
Huge thanks to Leela Wanless for assisting and 2nd shooting, great job as always.
