Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Josh’s amazing wedding with the ceremony being held at Moulton Parish Church followed by a stunning reception at Rushton Hall in Kettering.
I met up with Sarah, her lovely bridesmaids and Sarah’s parents at their home and it was buzzing with activity as everyone was excited and busy getting ready for the day ahead. Sarah was taking everything in her stride and didn’t stop smiling throughout the morning as everyone enjoyed a few glasses of champagne. The amount of wedding details around the house was amazing, there was even a “wedding day” yankee candle! You could tell everyone had been counting down the days for a long time and a lot of thought and planning had gone into every decision. None more so than Sarah’s dress, she looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the stairs ready to take the short journey to the church with her proud father Martyn, in a Vintage Rolls Royce!
Josh was busy greeting guests at the church along with his Best Man Nathan and Ushers, Jonny, James, Jack and Troy. He also looked very relaxed and was full of smiles as Sarah walked down the aisle to start the ceremony. The Vicar was a family friend and that added a lovely personal touch to the ceremony which was full of lovely readings and hymns. Light was pouring in through the windows and along with the church being absolutely beautiful it made for some great photos.
Rain was on and off all day but that didn’t matter one bit as everyone made a confetti tunnel complete with umbrellas all the way to the car so Sarah and Josh could start their journey over to Rushton Hall for the reception.
Rushton Hall is one incredible place, the grounds, the main house and the orangery are all beautiful and provided some great backdrops for the bridal party and couple photos. The reception room itself had been decorated to perfection with flowers, candles and the stunning chandeliers topped it all off.
Sarah and Josh greeted all their guests with a receiving line before everyone sat down to enjoy a three course wedding breakfast before the speeches. I love photographing the speeches, it’s one of my favourite parts of the wedding day. Martyn, Josh and Nathan all did a great job of telling stories about Sarah and Josh, how they met, how Josh proposed and of course a few funny stories about Josh from Best man, Nathan.
With the evening drawing in it was time to finish the formalities for the day with the cutting of the cake and the first dance. Sarah and Josh took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife and think everyone was caught by surprise (me included) as two confetti cannons covered the dance floor. I love the shot below I managed to capture as this happened. I think it sums Sarah and Josh up perfectly! Happy, in love and super fun to be around.
Sarah and Josh, it was a pleasure to photograph your wedding day. We had a great time with you all and I couldn’t wait to share some images with you both. Hopefully you are reading this in the Maldives with a cocktail in hand. Heres your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks to Jonathan Bickle for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day, great job!
