Queenie and Richard’s wedding at The Five Arrows in Waddesdon was one of those days that perfectly balanced emotion, laughter, and an incredible amount of personality.
Family and friends had travelled from Hong Kong to celebrate with them, creating a fantastic atmosphere from the very start. One of the most touching parts of the day was the ceremony, which was conducted by Richard’s brother, Adam. It made everything feel incredibly personal, especially when Richard became emotional as Queenie walked down the aisle with her proud mum by her side.
The couple had written their own vows, setting the tone for a ceremony filled with genuine love and plenty of happy tears. True to form, they also added some wonderfully unique touches throughout the day. Guests took part mid ceremony, where a ball of yarn was thrown into the crowd and whoever caught it had to share their best marriage advice. The responses ranged from heartfelt to hilarious.
Every guest also had their own personalised Lego character and Top Trumps-style card, which later became part of a fiercely competitive game with a giant Buzz Ball as the prize. It was one of many details that made this wedding feel completely unique to Queenie and Richard.
The speeches brought plenty of laughter and emotion, while close-up magician Paul Megram left guests amazed with his mind-bending tricks throughout the reception.
Although the weather was against us at times, we managed to dodge most of it and even embraced it for a few portraits in the gardens, creating some beautiful images.
The day finished in style with an epic dance floor. The band kept the party going all night, dance-offs broke out, and even the couple’s cats made an appearance in the form of handheld banners being waved around by guests.
Queenie and Richard you created a wedding that was packed with personality, creativity, and love. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph and a day I won’t forget anytime soon.
Here’s a few pictures to bring back all the great memories…..
