Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Hanna and Derek’s beautiful wedding with the ceremony being held at St Mary’s Church in Oakley followed by a fantastic reception at the always amazing Nether Winchendon House.
I met up with Hanna at her new home where she was getting ready with her lovely bridesmaids Juliet and Satu. The sun was streaming into the house and everyone was excited for the day ahead. The church is literally across the road but as a surprise there was a beautiful Rolls Royce that arrived to take Hanna the short distance to the ceremony.
Cedric could not of looked more proud as he walked Hanna down the aisle to join hands with Derek, and it was all smiles throughout the ceremony. There were Hymns and readings and it was a real pleasure to capture the many lovely moments as Hanna and Derek became husband and wife!
We made a short stop in Brill on our way to the wedding reception. Derek is a farmer and there are some lovely views from the fields so we stopped for a few bridal party and couple shots.
Nether Winchendon house is one of my favourite venues. There are so many great spots to shoot you could literally spend all day doing so. With the bright sun above us we used some shady spots knowing full well we were pretty much guaranteed some amazing sunset light later on and we were not disappointed.
Everyone enjoyed drinks and canapés on the patios and lawns outside the main house whilst we had some fun with Hanna and Derek and the bridal party on the drive. Before we knew it it was time to head over to the carriage barn for the wedding breakfast.
The carriage barn was decorated to perfection with candles and flowers and everyone enjoyed a great three course meal before taking their seats for the speeches.
Cedric, Derek, James and Richard all did a great job. I always love photographing the speeches, so many fun reactions as the speakers entertained the guests with lovely words and funny stories.
We got the “Golden” sunset light we were looking for so we headed back over to the house for a few more couple shots with Hanna and Derek and I’m so glad we did as I love the set of photos we created and I’m sure they will too!
After a few more drinks outside in the glow of the sunset it was time to head back in for the first dance to complete the formalities of the day and get the party started!
Hanna and Derek, you really had the perfect wedding day and I’m so glad you chose me to photograph it all for you. We had a blast with the guys and I couldn’t wait to share some photos with you both so here’s your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks also to Kay for assisting and 2nd shooting, great job as always.
