Last Saturday I had the great pleasure of photographing Michelle and Nick’s wedding with the ceremony being held at the Gilstrap Registry office followed by a beautiful reception at Kelham Hall.
I met up with Nick and Oscar at the hotel they were getting ready at and they both looked super sharp in their tux’s and bow ties. Oscar was page boy for the day and had another important job as “Ring Security!” They travelled to the Ram Hotel Bar in style, in an open top Daimler Car to meet a few of their guests for a couple of pre ceremony drinks.
Michelle and Nick have 6 beautiful children between them and the 5 girls were to be bridesmaids along with Nick’s sister Leanne. They all arrived at The Gilstrap and it was a lovely moment as Michelle and her brother Steve pulled up also in the Daimler to the excitement of all the bridesmaids.
The guests had now filled the ceremony room and it was an emotional time as the bridesmaids walked down the aisle one by one followed by Michelle and Steve. Nick was obviously blown away by how stunning Michelle and their children looked and they couldn’t stop smiling at each other throughout the ceremony. The whole thing was a joy to capture.
The grounds at the Gilstrap are quite amazing. You’re basically surrounded by castle walls and they made for a great backdrop to the confetti throwing, group and couple shots.
We had so much fun with everyone and you can see why Michelle and Nick are adored by all their friends and family. Such a lovely couple and joy to be around. We had many laughs as we did their couple shots and I feel their fun loving characters are perfectly captured in the shots below.
It was soon time to head over to the Kelham Hall and all the guests were outside the hotel cheering as Nick and Michelle’s car pulled up ready to start the drinks reception.
The wedding breakfast room was decorated to perfection with a large “LOVE” sign just behind the top table.
After a fantastic BBQ style meal it was time for the speeches. Harriet (one of the youngest bridesmaids) made a lovely speech followed by a toast to absent friends and family from Steve. Then Nick had everyone in hysterics with his Frank Spencer impression. He followed that with many thank you’s, funny stories and lovely words about his beautiful wife.
Just as the dusk was setting in we had some fun with kids outside on the lawn with a few races and some jumping shots and they received some lovely gifts before we headed in for the cutting of the cake.
To finish the formalities of the day Nick and Michelle had their first dance as husband and wife and their children and guests soon joined them to party the night away.
Michelle and Nick, thank you so much for asking me to photograph your wedding. Alex and I had a blast with you all and I truly felt honoured to be a part of your beautiful wedding day. I couldn’t wait to share some pictures with you so heres your sneak peek storyboard!
