On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Laura and Richard’s wedding at the beautiful Tythe Barn in Launton near Bicester.
The weather was somewhat touch and go throughout the day but we had sunny spells at the right times of the day including the morning so many of the guests enjoyed a drink or two outside in the gardens of the barn whilst Laura and her bridesmaids got ready in the Nook.
Laura looked beautiful in her lace dress which had amazing detail and was champagne in colour. If she was nervous she didn’t show it and there was a lovely moment when her father came through the door to see her for the first time.
The ceremony was to take place inside and the setting was perfect. The barn always has such a warm feel to it and the hundreds of fairy lights which intwine around the beams really add to the atmosphere of the place. Richard was all smiles as Laura and her proud father Steve walked down the aisle to start the ceremony, which was to be conducted by Janet, a close friend of Laura’s.
There was a lovely reading from friends and Laura and Richard couldn’t of looked any happier as they exchanged vows, rings and had their first kiss as husband and wife!
Everyone made the most of the drinks and canapés in the cowshed whilst we took the time to get some family, bridal party and couple shots in and around the barn. Finishing with a big group shot before everyone headed in for dinner.
The food at the barn is provided by Jamie Oliver’s fabulous feasts and never fails to disappoint. Everyone enjoyed a BBQ style feast and we even managed to nip out and catch a beautiful dusky dark blue sky before the speeches.
The speeches were all fantastic, and gave us some fun reaction shots. Richard had some lovely words to say about his new wife and then the Best Man finished it all off with some funny stories about Richard. A great way to finish a lovely afternoon.
After a few cups of coffee in the cow shed it was soon time for the new Mr and Mrs Evans to take to the dance floor and have their first dance as husband and wife. They were soon followed by many of their guests to get the party well and truly started!
One last surprise was a Casino for the guests to dabble with throughout the evening with blackjack and Roulette tables which also made for some fun shots.
Laura and Richard, it was a real pleasure to photograph your wedding day and I hope you have a fantastic time on honeymoon. I’m sure your looking forward to seeing some photos so here is your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks also to Alex Bradbury for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day, fab job as always.
