On Sunday I travelled over to The Old Kent Barn to photograph the beautiful wedding of Alice and Charlie. As with many weddings of late, it has been a long time coming and Alice and Charlie were both thrilled to finally be tying the knot!
It’s the first time I have been to the Old Kent Barn and I have to say I absolutely love the venue and the staff were great! They have a beautiful, covered area for the ceremony so a few spots of rain went unnoticed as Alice walked down the aisle with her proud father, Dave. There were two lovely readings and everyone watched on as Alice and Charlie said their “I do’s” under the gazebo which was covered in stunning flowers.
Alice and Charlie left through a cloud of confetti and I do mean a cloud! I love the shots we got of them as they smiled their way through it all and onto their drinks reception. Everyone enjoyed drinks, canapes, popcorn and candy floss as we did a few group and couple shots around the grounds.
The reception room had also been decorated to perfection with many artistic and family touches throughout and provided the perfect backdrop for a lovely three-course meal and of course, the speeches! Breaking from tradition Alice did a wonderful speech about her now-husband Charlie and Dave and Phil entertained the guests with funny stories about Alice and Charlie.
We even managed to nip out and get some late afternoon sunshine shots with Alice and Charlie which was great fun. Then we headed back in for the first dance! They were soon joined by all their guests as the band kicked in and really got the party started!
Alice and Charlie, thanks so much for asking me to photograph your wedding day. Kay and I had a blast with you all and I couldn’t wait to share some photos with you all, so here’s your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks to Kay for 2nd shooting on the day, great job as always.
