Wow! What a great way to start a busy year of weddings. I knew from the minute I met Lauren and Ashley that their wedding day would be one filled with love, laughter and exquisite style! With the beautiful venue of Stubton Hall as the backdrop the wedding delivered on every level and it was an absolute pleasure so capture it all for them both.
The fun started the minute I met up with Lauren and her lovely bridesmaids in the bridal suite as they were all busy de-petalling roses for the ceremony room. Laughter filled the air as they joked and even danced their way through bridal prep. Ashley had already earned major “husband points” showering Lauren with beautiful gifts throughout the morning. It all got a bit emotional as Lauren’s Dad saw her looking stunning in her beautiful dress for the first time. Not a dry eye in the room.
Ashley and the Groomsmen were all looking super sharp and ready well ahead of schedule so we got the chance to do a few shots with them outside. Such a great bunch of guys. They all greeted the guests as they arrived and everyone was soon seated in the beautiful ceremony room ready for the main event!
With the ceremony room full, Lauren made her way down the grand staircase with Ashley waiting patiently at the front of the aisle. I think its safe today he was blown away as Lauren walked down the aisle with her very proud father Dave by her side.
The ceremony was lovely with two beautiful readings and plenty of smiles and laughter as Ashley and Lauren read their personalised vows to each other in front of all their family and friends.
The new Mr and Mrs Metcalf made their way to the drinks reception through a confetti tunnel of rose petals. Whilst the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés we had some fun with the bridal party around the grounds and got some beautiful shots of them all.
Lauren and Ashley love their two dogs, so much so they had to be a part of the wedding and therefore the pictures, so we had some fun chasing them around trying to get some shots of them all. They both looked very smart in their bow ties and flower collars!
The wedding reception room had been styled to perfection with beautiful flower arrangements, candles, a neon Mr and Mrs sign, custom mirrors and favours. It provided a great setting for the wedding breakfast and of course the speeches which were next on the agenda.
Dave, Ashley and Best Man, Tom all did a great job of entertaining the guests with funny stories, lovely words about Lauren and many thank you’s to people who have helped with the wedding. We loved capturing all the guests reactions to Best Man Tom’s stories as you will see below.
After everyone had enjoyed the three course meal we made the most of some of the lit up areas of the venue with Lauren and Ashley before heading to the dance floor for the first dance! This was another highlight of the night as everyone soon joined them to rock the dance floor, hit the shots and party the night away. The perfect ending for a truly perfect couple.
Lauren and Ashley, I hope you are reading this whilst sipping on a cocktail in the Maldives. Thank you so much for asking me to photograph your wedding, we had an absolute blast with you all I look forward to sharing the full collection of photos with you both upon your return.
