I had so much fun last Saturday photographing Sara and Simon’s wedding. The ceremony was held at St Mary’s Church in Haddenham with the reception at Bradmore Farm.
Sara was getting ready at Cutters Barn which was a beautiful setting for the bridal preparations. I already knew Sara and all her lovely bridesmaids from Sophie’s wedding so it was great to see everyone again. We had great fun and the morning was super relaxed. Sara looked beautiful in her dress and rode to the church in style, in a vintage Rolls Royce with her proud father Trevor.
Rich was busy at the church with Simon and his Groomsmen who had enjoyed the afternoon sunshine whilst greeting guests. Haddenham church is in a lovely setting, right in the middle of the village with the pond just outside and two rows of trees leading the way to church itself.
The church was full and it all got a bit emotional as the amazing gospel singers sang Sara down the aisle. Sunshine was streaming in through the stained glass windows creating the perfect setting for a really lovely ceremony. There were hymns and readings and of course Sara and Simon said their vows and exchanged rings in front of all their closest friends and family to become husband and wife.
As the new Mr and Mrs Milmer walked back down the aisle everyone made a confetti tunnel outside and enjoyed a glass of wine and some cake whilst we did a few family group and couple shots.
It was short ride over to Bradmore Farm which had been expertly decorated by many of Sara and Simon’s friends and family. We had a bit more time in the sunshine there before everyone headed in for a delicious carvery roast dinner.
After desert there was a surprise for the guests. The waiters who had been with us serving canapés and drinks suddenly burst into song. The next half hour was filled with laughter as they comically sang song after song with slightly different words/titles and in a Russian accent! Such good fun as you will see below from the photos.
With the sun now setting we had some fun with Sara and Simon and also the bridesmaids, getting a few final couple and group shots in the evening sunset light.
To finish off the days formalities Sara and Simon cut the cake and had their first dance as husband and wife. Soon after Sara and Trevor had a father/daughter dance and Simon also took the opportunity to dance with his Mum. Then everyone joined in to fill the dance floor and get the party started.
Sara and Simon, we had an absolute blast of a wedding day with you guys. You are such a special couple and I’m sure your wedding day was everything you dreamed it would be. I hope you are reading this in the Maldives with a cocktail in hand. I couldn’t wait to share some images with you so here is your sneak peek storyboard!
Big thanks also to Richard Foister for assisting and 2nd shooting on the day.
