On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Victoria and Nick’s wedding at the beautiful Micklefield Hall in Rickmansworth.
One of my favourite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to know so many awesome families. This was the third “Smithers” wedding I have had the pleasure of photographing and it was so great to seeing everyone again and meet the new additions to the family.
Victoria got ready in the bridal suite at Micklefield along with her bridesmaids and it was a really relaxed morning as Juliet Cunnington did the make up and everyone enjoyed a glass of champagne or two! Victoria looked stunning in her dress complete with long veil and detachable lace top which really finished off her look perfectly!
It all got a bit emotional as her father Simon came in to see her for the first time and there were also a few tears from the guests as Simon proudly walked his daughter down the aisle to join hands with Nick to start the ceremony.
The ceremony had some lovely readings and the setting was beautiful! There were flowers arrangements hanging from the chandeliers and the barn had a really warm, rustic feel. It was the perfect backdrop for Victoria and Nick to say their vows and exchange rings to become husband and wife. I don’t think either of them stopped smiling the whole time and it was a total joy to capture.
The weather had stayed dry so after a fun confetti tunnel we made the most of the grounds for some family and couple shots whilst guests enjoyed drinks and canapés! We had a great time with Victoria and Nick and I love the happiness that shines through in their photos.
The catering staff had done an amazing job turning the barn around ready for the wedding breakfast. It looked incredible!
There were two fantastic speeches from Simon and Tarn before the starter was served. Simon shared some funny stories about Victoria growing up as well as highlighting all her lovely qualities that make her family so fond of her. Then Tarn read out an amazing poem that she had written about Nick and Victoria, perfection!
After a great main course, it was Nick and Tom’s time to speak. Nick thanking the many people that had helped put together such a special wedding day along with sharing many lovely words about his beautiful bride. Then Tom highlighting some of Nick’s quirky qualities and many funny stories. It was all great fun to photograph.
Next up were the final formalities of the day including Victoria and Nick’s first dance as husband and wife. Another highlight of the day and it wasn’t long before the band helped fill the dance floor and everyone partied on into the night.
Victoria and Nick, thanks so much for asking me to photograph your wedding. We had an absolute blast with you both and all your lovely friends and family. I couldn’t wait to share some photos with you both so here’s your sneak peek storyboard!
